The University of Texas at Austin Application Requirements
All freshman and first-year students must submit a completed application and submit it either through the online portal at the school’s website or through the Coalition for College app. The application fee is $75 for domestic students and $90 for international students. The University of Texas at Austin provides fee waivers for students who are eligible. Students should prepare a personal essay, a range of short answers for the provided prompts, high school transcripts, applicable college transcripts, and satisfactory test scores.
Graduate students should prepare a completed online application. Students who are citizens of the United States should select the corresponding application form. Graduate students can submit applications to all of the university’s available programs. Whichever department or college is desired, students should venture to the homepage and select the application at that portal. The application fees vary based on program selection. In general, graduate students must pay $65 and international students must pay $90. Students should be prepared to include transcripts, GRE or GMAT scores, letters of recommendation, and other supplemental documents.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Full-time undergraduate students who are residents of the state of Texas and living on campus will pay a tuition of $28,756. Students who are residents and living with family or parents will pay a tuition of $20,724. Full-time undergraduate students who are non-residents of the state will pay $58, 986. The total cost includes the price of tuition, transportation, housing, books, supplies, and miscellaneous fees.
Full-time graduate students who are residents of the state of Texas and living either on or off-campus will pay a tuition of $30,538. Students who are residents of the state and residing with family members or parents will pay a tuition of $21,358. Graduates who are non-residents of the state of Texas will pay $39,476.
Students can apply for financial aid through FAFSA as well as through some of the university’s own guidelines. Undergraduates can obtain financial assistance in the form of a scholarship or grant from UT Austin. On average, 50% of the undergraduate student body receives $10,590 in aid.
