About the University of Baltimore
The University of Baltimore originated in 1925. Maryland civic leaders opened a nonprofit night school for an inaugural class of 176 at a Saint Paul Street rowhouse. In 1937, it added the Junior College for traditional daytime courses. In 1966, the 16,000-volume Langsdale Library was established. In 1971, President Thomas Granville Pullen got the college accredited.
In 1972, the Master of Business Administration program was launched. On January 1, 1975, the University of Baltimore went public as an upper-division USM campus. In 1994, the William H. Thumel Sr. Business Center opened for management courses. One decade later, UB returned to a four-year institution admitting freshmen. In 2013, the UB School of Law notably built the 190,000-square-foot Angelos Law Center.
Endowed for $47.2 million, the University of Baltimore now enrolls 2,825 undergrad and 1,841 post-grad students from 28 countries. University of Baltimore Application Requirements
The University of Baltimore is classified “minimally difficult” by Peterson’s though only 482 of the 806 Fall 2018 applicants were triumphant for 60 percent acceptance. First-year students must culminate a qualifying high school curriculum or the GED equivalent. The Class of 2022 had an average 2.89 secondary GPA. The middle 50th percentile had SAT scores of 420-530 for Reading/Writing and 390-500 for Math. Mid-range admitted ACT scores were 18-22. The Helen P. Denit Honors Program requires a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Undergrads can transfer up to 70 lower-division and 20 upper-division credits graded C- or better. International students can skip the 550 TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS requirement with 56+ United States credits.
The Office of Graduate Admission generally seeks regionally accredited bachelor’s degrees at GPAs above 3.0. The M.S. in Applied Psychology has two prerequisite courses: Statistics and Research Methods. J.D. in Law entrants present a median 152 LSAT score. Online M.B.A. students achieve an average 494 GMAT or 145 GRE Quantitative score.
The University of Baltimore has a priority freshman deadline of April 15th. Undergrads can file until final reviews on August 15th for Fall and January 1st for Spring. The Helen P. Denit Honors Program has August 19th and January 21st deadlines. The School of Law considers candidates until August 1st. M.F.A. in Creative Writing & Public Arts cohorts should file before February 15th. The M.A. in Integrated Design closes on July 1st and December 1st. D.P.A. in Public Administration entrants must apply by April 1st for Schaefer Center fellowships.

Tuition and Financial Aid
For 2019-20, the University of Baltimore was billing full-time Maryland undergrads $4,548 each semester. Non-resident bachelor’s tuition is $10,728 by full-time semester. Studying part-time incurs $1,240 to $9,898 based on credits. Mandatory student fees of $1,041 are already included. The Finish4Free program saves up to $10,728 by waiving the last semester’s tuition.
