The 50 Best Scholarships for Masters Degrees

Find Your Degree!
Finding graduate school scholarships is essential to make graduate school more affordable. Master’s programs can be expensive, but pay off in the long run. Having a master’s degree opens more doors for career advancement. Certain jobs one can only get with a master’s degree. These include mental health counselor, curator, librarian, and physician assistant. School teachers and school administrators will also need a master’s degree. Nurse practitioner, architect, engineering manager, and CPA, also require a master’s. Of course the master’s degree is also a stepping stone toward a doctorate. Many doctorates (but not all) require one. Master’s degrees are also a good way to focus your career or even shift to a related career. Master’s degrees in management, for instance, can be used to qualify for a management position within your specialty.
However, none if this matters if a master’s is just too expensive for you. There are a few ways to solve this problem. The first is to find a cheap master’s program. Even these can be difficult to pay for out of pocket. It’s a good start, but federal financial aid for graduate students is scarce. If you’re interested in cheap graduate school, this website has many articles featuring some of the best you will find. The second way is to use student loans to pay for graduate school. For those already burdened with student debt, however, this may not feel like a feasible option. One of the best ways to cut down the amount you need to take out in loans is scholarships. Third party scholarships provided by private organizations are a huge source of financial aid. The return on investment is quite high too. Even if you only get one scholarship, it can cut thousands off your bill. And it doesn’t take very long to apply to most. Here we feature 50 great scholarships for masters degrees to help get you started! Check them out and see if any might work for you.

Conclusion

According to the NCES, average graduate school tuition costs $10,408 at public universities and $21,955 at private schools each year! This makes financial aid very important. Taking out several graduate school loans can leave you strapped with debt during your post-graduation job hunt. Scholarships for master’s degrees are excellent financial aid alternatives that won’t need to be repaid. When combined with master’s degree grants and/or graduate assistantships, and other forms of financial aid, scholarships can let you graduate debt-free. These 50 masters degree scholarships can provide anywhere from $1,000 to $30,000 of financial aid to help chase your dreams for career advancement. Applying for scholarships can be hard work. You can streamline your financial aid hunt by creating a list off all your target scholarships. With a master list off all the information you need to apply to all of them. You may be able to re-use the same application packet over and over again with only slight changes for each scholarship. This will reduce the time and effort you need to put in to apply for your financial aid.
