20 Great Nursing Scholarships

Nursing scholarships are offered by many healthcare organizations to encourage qualified students into this rewarding career.

The AACN reports that the critical U.S. nursing shortage will grow to 260,000 registered nurses by 2025. That means an additional 30,000 nurses must graduate annually to meet the nation's booming medical needs, especially since 55 percent of the current RN workforce is over age 50.

Caring, compassionate individuals interested in nursing must obtain an associate or bachelor's degree for RN licensing. Having a master's degree is required for advanced practice roles, such as nurse practitioner and nurse educator.

Whether you're interested in pediatrics, gerontology, oncology, or nephrology, below are 20 great scholarships for nurses to fund their training.
